Everything You Need to Know About BESN.TV's Tournaments!

Every spring and fall, Black eSports Network is happy to bring you three separate video gaming tournaments that you, the gamer at home, can participate in!

Fun and fast-paced, our video gaming tournaments are open to all gamers of all playing levels, so you don't have to worry about being an expert or a pro at a game to participate.

Our tournaments are a great way to meet other gamers to play with and against our other tournaments and other games together. Even though you're competing for a chance to win prizes or our pot bonus, you'll meet passionate players like yourself and make friends in the process.

They take place weekly on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST. Our tournaments started at the beginning of March, but they continue until May. You have the option to participate in one or all three of them!

Monday Night Smash

A popular tournament before the COVID-19 pandemic, the creation of Monday Night Smash was one of our firsts (you can learn more about it in our founder Tim Fields' interview with Ureeka)

The tournament rules are as follows:

  • Double Elimination

  • Ruleset: 3 Stock

  • Time Limit: 7 minutes

  • All items are off.

  • Stage Hazard Toggle: Off

  • Final Smash Meter: Off

  • Mii Fighters and their respective custom moves are allowed.

  • If they use custom moves, it will be shown with their name what number move it is.

If time runs out, the winner is first determined by how many stocks remain; then by percentage after time is up. However, if both are the same--or a game ends in both players losing their last stock at the same time--then a tiebreaker is played. A tiebreaker has one stock and a three-minute match with the same characters and the same stage.

Retro Tuesday

Every Tuesday, we pick a different video game from the early and golden years of gaming.

The rules for Retro Tuesday are as follows:

  • Best of 3

  • 99 Seconds Game Glock

  • Double Elimination

  • Lagging out Results in Loss

  • No Rage Quitting

The Beat Down

Every Wednesday, we choose the best of the best in fighting games for this tournament Mortal Kombat and Tekken among the games to decide.

For The Beat Down, we pick the fighting game; our participants take care of the rest, going head to head against one another for a chance to win one of our prizes or the pot bonus!

  • Double Elimination

  • Lagging out Results in Loss

  • No Rage Quitting
